Today I had the pleasure of working with 3 groups K-12 Health and PE teachers. My task was to give them a guided tour of the county's portal site. Good times...?
Anyway, as I was showing them the ins and outs, I wondered how these teachers do it. They have been charged with teaching children to take care of their bodies. A monstrous task in today's society.
The arch nemesis in this process is.....technology. How does one balance the use of technology, a tool that can easily create atrophy, with the increasingly difficult task of keeping kids fit? The Wii shows that it can be done, but that is an unrealistic acquisition in most public schools.
